Final day Premier League title: Where will the real trophy be? Do runners up get medals?

The Premier League title race is going to the wire this season with Manchester City and Liverpool set for final day drama.

City will win their second successive top-flight crown if they beat Brighton on the south coast today.

Anything other than a win of Pep Guardiola’s side could see Liverpool leapfrog them into the top spot – if they can see off Wolves at Anfield.

The Reds are looking to claim their first Premier League trophy but even if they can pull off another miracle this season, they won’t actually get their hands on the real cup.

Premier League title race: Where will the real trophy be?

Premier League officials have decided to send the real trophy to the AMEX Stadium with City firm favourites to win the league.

A replica, which is identical to the real thing and also made from solid sterling silver, will be at Anfield.

If Liverpool do win the title, they will receive the real thing at a later date.

In previous years, the league have put on helicopters to transfer the trophy around the country if needed but that won’t be the case this term.

There will be no runners-up medal handed out to whichever team finishes in second.

But a batch of real winners’ medals will be sent to both grounds in case either side win.

Players must have five or more appearances throughout the league season to receive a medal.
