Akpabio thanks Buhari on appointment
Former Senate Minority Leader and Minister-Designate, Godswill Akpabio, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, for finding him worthy to be nominated for the office of the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking at the wedding ceremony of Mr and Mrs Enomfon Akpabio, in Ukana Ikot Ntuen, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the former governor of Akwa Ibom State, said on Saturday, ” let me thank the president of this great nation, President Muhammadu Buhari for finding me worthy of this appointment as a Minister of the Federal Republic.
“President Buhari believes in promoting excellence and rewarding loyalty. He has the development and progress of Nigeria at heart. He will never disappoint Nigerians, because he is trying his best to take this great country to the next level.He has successfully navigated us out of recession and his next plan is the economic prosperity of the people.
” What we owe him as citizens is to continuously pray for him as our leader. Let us always pray for our leaders at all levels”, he stated.
According to Akpabio, ” what is currently happening in our dear state, is but a passing phase, because even the Bible says, there is time for everything on the surface of the earth. ”
He charged the newly wedded couple, ” to be thankful to God at all times and build their marriage on trust and love, because according to him, that was the only way their marriage would be successful and enjoyable.
The Minister-designate, attended the wedding ceremony with the governorship candidate of the APC and former Managing Director of the NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere, Chairman of the APC in the state, Chief Ini Okopido, Hon Emmanuel Ekon, Hon Nse Ntuen among other dignitaries.
