I have no DNA records of Emmanuel – Akpabio
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has denied media reports credited to him that ” betrayal is in the DNA of his successor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Anietie Ekong, the statement said inter alia. “The attention of the Hon Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been drawn to a mischievous article titled: “How Ali Modu Sheriff, Bank MD warned me against picking Udom as my successor – Akpabio… Betrayal, they told me, is in his DNA,” written by one Abasiakan Udom.
“We wish to state categorically that throughout his recent interaction with some media practitioners in his Ukana home, Senator Akpabio never said some of those things mischievously attributed to him.
“Senator Akpabio has no records of the DNA of Governor Udom Emmanuel for him to have concluded that betrayal is in his DNA. Having attained the position of Governor for eight years himself, Senator Akpabio could not have made such demeaning statement about a State Governor.
“We wish to caution mischief-makers to leave Senator Akpabio alone. Those who have personal scores to settle with others should not drag the name of Senator Akpabio into them and mischievously attribute things he never said to him.
“Once again, we totally dissociate Senator Akpabio from those despicable words attributed to him and demand an unreserved apology from the author.
