Fayemi, a gov with robust sense of governance-DG, DAWN

Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has been described as statesman who has aa solid robust sense of governance and cosmopolitan developmental vision.

The Director-General, Development Agenda for Western Nigeria Commission (DAWN Commission), Mr Seye Oyeleye, said this when the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Tourism Development), Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Oyeleye, who commended Ojo-Lanre for the visit said that he was not expecting less act from Ekiti because the state is being governed by a man who has a firm understanding of the essence of government, the need to govern well and the attitude of a philosopher ruler.

He disclosed that DAWN Commission was established purposely to drive development in the South-West of the country and it will not steer off from its pristine objective and mission.

Oyeleye applauded Ambassador Ojo – Lanre for his proactiveness at espousing the tourism vision of Governor Fayemi and spreading its gospel to stakeholders who are strategic to the planting of a solid tourism economy in the state.

He disclosed that the Commission would not only support tourism development in Ekiti, but would also facilitate both investment and investors for that sector in the state, adding that its door is opened to all for regional advancement and collective developmental issues.

Speaking earlier, the governor’s aide said his visit to DAWN Commission was propelled by the need to acquaint the Commission of Fayemi’s tourism vision for Ekiti and to seek its partnership in the vision.

He said DAWN Commission has not only proven its capability and capacity to engender and develop developmental strides, but also to nurture them to fruition and success.

Ambassador Ojo-Lanre said tourism development in a state cannot be localised, bearing in mind that tourism is about attracting a mass of people to a destination, noting that since DAWN Commission is of regional essence, it should be involved in the task of making Ekiti the destination of first choice for the people of South-West and beyond.

He commended the Commission for being the furnace that minted the Amotekun Western Nigeria Security outfit which which he said is effectively complementing national security agencies at ensuring peace and security in the South-West.
