Onimesi-In-Council Approves Appointment of Onisigun

Oba Festus Olatunji Oladimeji, Olaibiyemi II, the Onimesi of Imesi and the
Onimesi-In Council has approved the appointment of High Chief Nathaniel Dahunsi as the Onisigun of Isigun, Imesi Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

As contained in a statement made available to PeesReporters, the approval followed the unanimous decision of the Isigun Family to select Chief Dahunsi as the Onisigun.

The statement further disclosed that the decision to appoint High Chief Dahunsi followed his presentation by three representatives of Isigun quarters at the ‘Ajọ Ilu’ of September 14, 2020.

High Chief Nathaniel Dahunsi, born to the family of Late Pa ademiluka and
Madam Deborah Bose Dahunsi in 1949, attended St. James Primary School, Imesi Ekiti, Akoko Anglican Grammar School, Arigidi and Victory College, Ikarẹ.

He obtained Bsc (Hons) Economics from University of Lagos in 1977 and a post-graduate diploma in Financial
Management from the Ondo State University in1993.

He worked variously at Central Bank of
Nigeria, PortHarcourt, Ondo State Government Audit Department, University College Hospital, Ibadan (UCH) as Chief Auditor and retired from The Federal University of Technology Akure, (FUTA) in 2007 as the Chief Internal Auditor.

He is also a member of many professional bodies and have attended local and international conferences.

Oba Festus Olatunji Olatunde thanked the Isigun Family for presenting one of their best at a time, he said, Imesi needs very capable hands to develop the community.

He also congratulated High Chief Nathaniel Dahunsi and advised any aggrieved member of the family to utilize the vast traditional grievances procedure to resolve differences amicably.

Recalled that the appointment of Oba Olatunde as the Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti was prolonged and complicated due to the fact that some important positions of high chiefs have been vacant for a long time.

The traditional ruler said the appointment of High Chief Dahunsi was part of the efforts to right the wrongs and ensure the smooth running of the traditional stool and fast-track the development of the community.
