Zamfara State governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has assured that Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), if elected as governor, will ensure the socio-economic transformation of Ondo State.

The governor, as contained in a statement by his media aide, Yusuf Idris Gusau, gave the assurance while speaking at the grand-finale rally of the PDP ahead of the governorship election coming up in the state, on Saturday.

Addressing party supporters at the event, Governor Matawalle said he was overwhelmed by the crowd he saw and expressed the belief that the PDP candidate would emerge winner of the election.

He also called on the people of the state to come out enmass and vote for Jegede on the election day, assuring that all votes cast will be counted as was recently done in Edo State which gave victory to the PDP.

The governor urged party supporters in the state to avoid any act of violence that can cause confusion during and after the election, noting that a level-playing ground will be provided to all political parties by both the INEC and security agencies.

Matawalle, who described the PDP flag-bearer as an honest and sincere politician whose leadership qualities are acknowledged nationally, charged people of the state to vote wisely by casting their votes in favour of the PDP and its candidate.

He stressed that when elected as the governor of Ondo State, a lot of positive transformation will take place, especially in the economic, social and environmental sectors, for the benefit of the state.
