EndSARS: Body Parts Of Burnt Policemen Were Sold To Native Doctors In Ibadan -CP

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy, Abiodun Adewale and 24-year-old Mubarak Aliu for allegedly selling the skulls of the two policemen killed and burnt in the Iwo Road area of Ibadan during the violence which trailed #EndSARS protests in October.

The duo were said to have sold the skulls to the third suspect, Oladipupo Ifakorede, who is a native doctor. The native doctor paid N1,000 to the two suspects for the skulls which had been broken down into pieces.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Chucks Enwonwu, while briefing journalists on Friday said the suspects were arrested on November 15 at the Oluwo area of Ibadan.

He said they were nabbed by the Quick Intervention Unit of Oyo State Police Command.

The CP said Abiodun and Mubarak confessed that they took the two skulls of the slain policemen away from the scene of incident, and sold them to a native doctor for N1,000.

Enwonwu said following the arrest, the skulls which had dried up and were broken into pieces, were recovered from the native doctor, Ifakorede.

Adewale said Aliu asked him to follow him to his wife’s place and they got to Iwo Road and saw smoke everywhere . He said they moved closer and saw that some persons gathered around burnt bodies of the two policemen killed and were removing their parts.

He said Aliu told him that he would take the skulls which had been gathered one side and he got a nylon bag and took them away.

Adewale said, ” We moved to the native doctor’s residence at the same area where we live. After negotiation, the native doctor gave us N500 with the promise to pay the balance of N500.

“The native doctor told us he was not the one that would use them, but that he would take them to a Quranic scholar in Ilorin, Kwara State, to use them for ritual purpose.”

He said he saw the native doctor later the same day and he gave him the N500 balance which they both shared N250 each. Adewale said the two of them used the first N500 to eat.

Aliu also corroborated Adewale’s claim just like the native doctor also did.

Recall that two policemen were pursued to Iwo Road area in October 22 and were killed by some youths. The two corpses were later set ablaze and and some persons cut off parts of the bodies.

A pregnant woman and a man had earlier been arrested and taken to the Force Intelligence Bureau for further investigation.
