Ibidapo Obe, UNILAG Ex-VC, Dies Of COVID-19 Complications

A former Vice Chancellors of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Ibidapo Obe, has reportedly died of complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though the details of his death were sketchy, a report made available to Pees Reporters disclosed that Professor Obe, who was the Vice Chancellors of UNILAG between 2000 and 2007, died of COVID-19 complications on Sunday.

Professor Obe, who was born at Ile-Ife, Osun State, in 1949 succeeded Professor Jelili Adebisi Omotola, was later succeeded by Professor Olukayode Odugbemi in 2007.

He was at various times a Visiting Research Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the State University of New York, Buffalo, USA (1980-1991) and a Visiting Research Professor at Texas Southern University, Houston, USA in 2007, after a successful tenure at UNILAG.
