SENATOR EKPENYONG THREATENED TO KILL ME, IF I APPEARED AS APC WITNESS AGAINST HIM- WITNESS TELLS TRIBUNAL
The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, was on Monday told of how Senator Christopher Ekpenyong, threatened to kill the APC Collation Agent for Obot-Akara Local government Area, Mr Tiebet Joshua, if he appeared as the APC witness against him.
By this revelation, the court room went dead as people turned their attention to the direction where Senator Ekpenyong sat, in utter disbelief.
Addressing his Lordships, Mr Tiebet Joshua, who he hails from Obot-Akara Local Government Area, just as the newly elected Senator, revealed that his life was in danger and would plead with His Lordships to prevail on Ekpenyong not to carry out his threat.
According to the APC Collation Agent during the National Assembly Elections, ” my Lords, I am from the same local government area with Senator Ekpenyong. He is our political leader. Two days ago, My Lords, Senator Ekpenyong personally called me on my mobile phone and threatened to kill me if I appeared today as a witness against him.”
