A notable youth leader in the  Niger delta region, Mr. Tamuno George, has described the sudden anti-corruption campaign against Minister-designate Senator Godswill Akpabio, by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) as mischievous, misleading and laughable.

SERAP had in a petition dated 2nd  August, 2019 and signed by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare, called on Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, Acting Chairman Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to invite Senator Godswill Akpabio for interrogation and further questioning, over alleged diversion of hospital equipments supposed constituency projects.

” we in Niger Delta are still in exciting mood with the appointment of the Uncommon Transformer, Senator Godswill Akpabio as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by our unwavering President Muhammad Buhari GCFR. It’s a fact that Senator Akpabio, as a member of Federal Executive Council will attract the desired human and infrastructural development to the Niger Delta region”, he noted.

According to the statement” Akpabio’s achievements in Akwa Ibom State, remained outstanding. Nigeria is bidding to host the Female U20 World Cup Competition and when the FIFA inspection team got to the world class stadium facility built by Akpabio, they were so amazed with the eddifice and the level of infrastructure they saw in the state, which is among the achievements associated with the name of Senator Akpabio.”
