New editorial appointments have been approved by the management of Vintage Press Limited, publishers of The Nation Newspapers.

In a memo to the staff on Wednesday, August 15 by Mrs Folake Adeoye, Admin Manager of the company, Mr Niyi Adesina, former Deputy Editor (News) and lately Chief Press Secretary to Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola was named as the new Daily Editor of the paper.

He succeeds Mr Gbenga Omotoso who has been screened as a commissioner nominee in the cabinet of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu.

Adesina holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

His experience in the media industry includes Prime People (1990 -1992), National Concord (1993-1999), The Punch (2000-2006), News Star as Editor, (2007-2009) and  The Nation since 2010.

Other new appointees include Mr Lawal Ogianegbon, former Deputy Daily Editor of the paper as Managing Editor, Editorial Services.

Dr Emmanuel Oladesu was named as Deputy Editor of the Daily and will continue to oversee the Political Desk which he heads before the new appointment.

Mr Bunmi Ogunmodede was confirmed as the News Editor of the paper.
