Udom shuns Niger Delta governors meeting with Buhari, Akpabio

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, this morning shunned a meeting of all governors of Oil Producing states with President Muhammadu Buhari, in the presidential villa.

The meeting which was at the instance of the governors to once and for all settle some grey areas in the recently released names of the yet to be constituted board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), saw the Akwa Ibom state represented by the Deputy governor, Moses Ekpo.

Sources informed peesreporters.com that, the absence of the Akwa Ibom State governor from the all important meeting, after he hosted some military top brass in the state, might not be unconnected with his strain relationship with former boss and benefactor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who was in attendance at the meeting as the Minister in charge of Niger Delta Affairs.

It was also gathered that, his fellow governors from the zone,  could not hide their shock at his absence from the all important meeting.

It would be recalled that, few days after the announcement of NDDC board members by the Presidency, the Akwa Ibom state governor was in the fore front of those agitating for the cancellation of the appointments.
