Despite the public declaration of its withdrawal from the court ordered rerun in Essien Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom State, results so far declared at the various polling units indicate that the APC was leading with a comfortable margin.

Information gathered from competent INEC sources at the local government collation centre in Essien Udim revealed that because of the victory of the APC in the rerun election, the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Mike Igini,  the National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Iniobong Ememobong, Vincent Ogene; the cousin of Igini, drafted from outside the state, to take up the position of the Electoral Officer, have all taken  over operations at the Local government Collation centre.

Also at the centre are, military officers, the state Commissioner for youth and sports, Monday Uko and the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Engineer Chris Ekpenyong and the federal house candidate, Nsikak Ekong.

Sources at the centre disclosed to Peesreporters.com that the essence of the closed door meeting is to find away out of the defeat and change the results in favour of the PDP.

It was also learnt that because of the defeat no results from the polling units have been posted by any PDP media hirelings, which was not the practice in the last election.

Speaking with Peesreporters.com, a voter at one the polling units, Ekerete Bassey, ” my brother despite APC’s withdrawal, the results that have so far been declared at the units are all in favour of the APC. PDP media people were told not to send out any results from the units, except the ones to be declared by INEC and not the polling officers.

He therefore,  called on the police, SSS to keep a tap on the movement and activities of Mike Igini as he has finally  taken over the Collation Centre with PDP chieftains with the intent to perpetrate Electoral fraud in favour of the PDP.

It was also gathered that, persistent calls from Governor Udom Emmanuel is driving them nut and they are determined to re write the results to favour the PDP candidate as directed by the governor.

In another development, shortly after the declaration of results at the Ekpenyong 11 Ward polling unit, there was wild jubilation by APC members over the victory of the party at the polling unit, despite the withdrawal of Senator Akpabio and the party from the rerun election.
