The attention of AKPABIO MEDIA OFFICE has been drawn to series of quotes attributed to him which he is purported to have made against some South-South leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC.)
Contrary to the online reports, Senator Godswill Akpabio did not at any time, whensoever, make any mischievous, vacuous and disparaging statements against the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege nor the APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The statements, mischievously credited to Senator Akpabio are nothing but evil works of deranged and obsessed imposters who have lately taken to writing and publishing fake stories about the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
The stories fail the basic test of believability. For instance, when did he make the statements attributed to him? Was it in an interview and if so with which medium? Who were those present when he made the statements?
What is obvious is that these publications are sponsored by a network of Akpabio haters in high places, both within and outside Akwa Ibom State, who flood social media platforms with lies and vacuous statements aimed at pitching him against other South-South leaders while subverting peace in the region.
Senator Akpabio’s commitment in changing the developmental narrative of the Niger Delta region and one who is set to accomplish President Buhari’s Niger Delta agenda has unsettled a few elites of the region. That is why they have conscripted some social media trolls to execute a sinister plot, which is to disseminate fake and disparaging news, disrupt his well articulated agenda for the development of the Niger Delta, if possible, truncate his robust political career.
We wish to state that all public events attended by the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs are always given adequate media coverage so as to leave no room for hearsay and speculations. Press statements emanating from him are duly signed by his media aide or office. Any report attributed to him that is not reported by the mainstream media nor signed by his media office is the handiwork of mischief-makers and should be ignored.
While Senator Akpabio can never be distracted by any shade of mischief or shenanigans of his traducers, we enjoin all Nigerians to appreciate and embrace President Buhari’s national development agenda that is already bearing fruits for the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
