NIGERIA RECORDS FIRST DEATH AS FORMER MD PPMC, ACHIMUGU DIES OF CORONAVIRUS DISEASE

Former Managing Director of PPMC Suleiman Achimugu in the early hours of today, Monday, died of Coronavirus complications, thus becoming the first Nigerian to have died due to the virus.

It was gathered early this morningΒ  that he had returned Β from the United Kingdom about two weeks ago and started exhibiting symptoms of the disease on Tuesday.
The family members were said to haveΒ  reported the development to the NCDC after which they reportedly arrived the house and took his blood specimen and they never returned to brief the family of the development.

Things turned to worse for the former PPMC, when he started coughing profusely.

He was said to have tested positive when the family members wanted to know the outcome of the test. He was immediately Β picked up and rushed to a hospital in Gwagwalada.
He died at about 2am this morning.
His family members have all been quarantined in their houses.
The NCDC it was also learntΒ  will handle the burial.
