Nigerians scheme to colonise Kenya through banks, marriages—Kenyan don

Professor XN Iraki, a lecturer at the University of Nairobi, has disclosed that Nigeria is rapidly posturing to become Africa’s superpower, as Nigerians are scheming to colonise and take over Kenya through banks and marriages.

As published in the July 19, 2020 edition of The Standard, one of the Kenyan’s largest newspapers, he said Nigerians were not only coming but “have already arrived” to take over the country with the acquisition of Kenyan’s Transnational Bank by Access Bank.

The submission by Iraki tallied with conspiracies about Nigerian takeover which is taking roots in many African countries, especially South Africa and Kenya, thus triggering xenophobic attacks on and resentment against Nigerians.

He lamented how banks from Nigeria, including UBA and GTB, have gained a foothold in the country, adding: “The entry of Nigerian lenders into the Kenyan market was well planned. It started with softening Kenyan minds with Nigerian churches and movies. ”

Iraki, hinting at Nigeria’s posturing to become Africa’s superpower, said: “Once they set their minds on something, they normally get it. I met a Nigerian who was a member of parliament in South Africa.

“They can control industries, institutions, sectors and politics indirectly. “For Nigerians, marrying our girls seems to be part of their grand strategy to get into the Kenyan market; through genes across generations.”

He said Nigerians are highly educated and disclosed that, in fact, one supervised his PhD dissertation in the US, even as he is planning a fact-finding visit to Nigeria after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said Access Bank is capitalizes to the tune of $18 billion, with 36 million customers on three continents, adding: “How will local banks compete with such a big bank? Will it list on the Nairobi Securities Exchange to give Kenyans a chance for ownership?”

“What else will Nigerians go for after our banks? Are banks their Trojan horse into our economy?,” Iraki asked rhetorically.
