The outgoing chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Paul Ekpo, has said that though he was quitting the chairmanship position of the party, he would very much be involved in the politics of the state.

Ekpo, who is serving out his second term tenure stated this in a telephone chat with Peesreporters.com on Tuesday.
According to the longest serving PDP chairman in the state, ” as I take a bow from the leadership seat of our great party, I thank the almighty God for making me to have a peaceful tenure. I thank all the party leaders and members for their trust and support. Without them it wouldn’t have been possible.”
Ekpo, who is also the chairman of PDP state Chairmen Forum, noted that” I am very thankful to God that throughout my tenure, I never lost any election. I am leaving the party leadership better than I met it. It has not been easy but God kept me, gave me a very peaceful tenure and saw me through all the challenges. I thank Him for standing by me.”
Speaking further, the Iman- born politician stated, ” I am leaving as the party chairman, but I am not quitting politics. I will continue to be deeply involved in politics.”
When asked of his future political plans, Ekpo said, “I will deeply be involved in politics that is what I can say for now”.
