It is a moment of deep reflections on the essence of truth, as demonstrated by the father of Islam, Ibrahim, who, in obedience to the instruction of the Almighty Allah, he wanted to offer his only son, Ismail, as offering. But Allah, in His infinite mercy and love, instructed Ibrahim to kill a ram instead.
The action of Ibrahim, as an obedient servant, and the undiluted love of Allah brought about the essence of the annual celebration called Eid-Al-Kabir.

In the spirit of the celebration, we urge the Muslim Ummah to imbibe the true essence of Eid-Al-Kabir and the lessons therein namely, love, obedience, tolerance and perseverance.
More importantly, we should, at this sober moment in our national life, engendered by the global COVID-19 pandemic, to do things in moderation, even as we celebrate the historic day in the Islamic Calendar.
We should imbibe and obey all instructions as regards keeping safe, away from the pandemic by washing our hands with soaps and applying sanitizer, observing social distancing and wearing clean face masks in public.
