A sum of Seventy-Eight Million Naira (N78 million) has purportedly been discovered in the personal bank account of the son of a top management staff of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

According to a reliable source, the same amount reportedly got missing from the luggage of a passenger who travelled from the Lagos airport shortly before the COVID-19 induced lockdown of all Nigerian airports.

The suspect, said our source, works in the security department of FAAN with his father, Mr. M.D Musa, who is the General Manager (Admin) under the Human Resources Department of the same federal agency.

“The intriguing thing is that, since the incident was discovered, the management has not found it necessary to report it to the relevant security agencies, instead the suspect has only been placed on suspension with his full monthly salary paid. No doubt, the father’s influence is at play,” said the source.

Contacted for comments, FAAN’s General Manager Corporate Affairs, Henrietta Yakubu, did not deny the incident.

She however debunked that the suspect works in the security department of FAAN.

She also told News Express that investigation on the matter is ongoing.

“The young man isn’t in Security dept. A committee is investigating and our parent Ministry (Ministry of Aviation) is aware. It’s still an internal issue until we are done with the investigation. Thank you for your concern,” said FAAN’s spokesperson.
