Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani- Kayode, has described the Government House, Uyo, also known as Hill top Mansion, built, commissioned and put to use by the Senator Godswill Akpabio-led administration, as the best in Nigeria.
According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain ” this Government House is the most beautiful Government House and Guest House that I have ever been to in Nigeria, and I have visited most. It is absolutely magnificent and quite overwhelming.”
Fani-Kayode, who is currently on what has been largely described as a controversial tour by the controversial politician to PDP states in the last two weeks, stated this shortly after his arrival in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital for a guided projects inspection tour of the state.
It would be recalled that on the last day of his tour to Cross River State, the PDP chieftain was embroiled in needless altercation with a journalist, who asked about who was bankrolling his tours.
The former Minister after a barrage of condemnation on his very embarrassing outburst has since publicly apologized to the Journalist, his employer and the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ).
In another development, the Akwa Ibom State chapter of NUJ has ordered its members to boycott Fani-Kayode’s activities in the state as a sign of protest on the insults he heaped on the Daily Trust Journalist.
