We’ve commenced rebuilding process in Oyo APC – Alao- Akala

Former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State has said the leadership of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the process of rebuilding the party.This was as he assured that the party is being repositioned to win back the state in the 2023 elections, just as he declared that all groups have been dissolved, as part of the process to attain lasting peace in the party in the state.The former governor made the disclosures while speaking with PeesReporters at the end of of stakeholders’ meeting of the party, held at his Bodija, Ibadan residence on Saturday.He said all divisive tendencies, including groups, have been dissolved as a way to ensuring lasting peace and unity in the party, adding that the APC remains one identity in the state.As part of the reconciliation process, he said he personally reached out to some notable chieftains of the party in the state, ahead of the stakeholders’ meeting.Those he said he spoke with and or sent emissaries to included the Minister of Sports and Youths Development, Mr Sunday Dare, Senator Ayo Adeseun, Professor Adeolu Akande and former Minister of Communications, Bayo Shittu.Others, he said, included a member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Tolu Shodipe, former Commissioner for Works, Yunus Akintunde, Senator Soji Akanbi and former deputy governors Iyiola Oladokun and Moses Alake.Former Governor Alao-Akala, who is the leader of the Oyo APC Reconciliation Committee, in a communique issued at the end of the meeting, said leaders and members of the party were sincerely committed to the unity of the party.The reconciliation committee in the communique signed by Alao-Akala, re-affirmed its resolve to be an unbiased umpire in the reconciliation exercise.It said: “All grievances across board were noted, addressed and amicably resolved in the overall interest of the party”, adding, “all party party structures must be supported and strengthened and party discipline maintained.”The success of the reconciliation exercise must be a collective effort. All members are enjoined to forgive the past and reunite for collective success.”All efforts must be harnessed to launch the party back into victory in 2023. Meetings of party stakeholders is a continuous process to consider and accommodate the views of various stakeholders.”
