Obaseki’s victory well deserved-Gov Fintiri….Edo people demonstrated commitment to democracy-Adewopo

Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has desrcibed the re-election of Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State as a victory well deserved and congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the victory at the poll.

He said the victory of his Edo State counterpart was an attestation to his widespread acceptance across the state and that it was, indeed, a true reflection of the wishes of the people of the state.

Fintiri who is the vice-chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council, however, urged Obaseki and the PDP to extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition and dedicate himself to re-uniting the people and be a Gmgovernor to all.

He said, “The path is now clear for focused piloting of the affairs of the state towards doing more for the people of Edo in your last term as governorm”

In a related development, the convener of the Ayombo Movement for Good Governance and a former PDP aspirant in the Osun State governorship election in 2018, Prince (Dr.) Ayoade Adewopo, has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his re-election.

Adewopo, in a statement he personally signed said: “I write to extend warm congratulations on your well deserved re-election for a renewed four-year term as Governor of Edo State.

“This election was one of the most competitive in our country’s history. However, once again, the people of Edo has demonstrated their commitment to democracy by voting in a largely peaceful process.

“I am confident that under your renewed leadership, Edo’s leading role in advancing the values and principles of democracy continue to be strengthened.

“It is my sincere wish that Edo, under your leadership, will maintain political stability and integration and achieve economic prosperity just like other states governed by PDP governors.”
