Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Thursday revealed that he has been unable to reach President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the shooting of peaceful protesters at the Lekki toll gate Tuesday evening.
Sanwo-Olu who made the revelation during a live interview session on Arise TV on Thursday also cleared the air on controversies surrounding the removal of cameras and why ad board light was turned off.
Asked why the cameras were removed, Sanwo-Olu answered, “The cameras removed is not a security camera, it is a laser camera for cars; it picks tags for cars and plate numbers; it is not a security camera; it is an infrared camera; security camera are still available and that is what we are using for our own investigation.
The governor who is sounds distressed also assured that footages from the CCTV cameras in Lekki will be made availabe for public viewership.
He added: “I will not stop to continue to apologize to Lagosians. Is it possible to make cctv footage public; Sanwoolu agreed to make the phone call public.”
“I made calls to the President twice yesterday but he was I firstly told he wasn’t in office and the second time he was said to be at the FEC meeting; I haven’t spoke to him directly but I have reached the Chief of Staff to the President.
Powers beyond Sanwo-Olu’s control?
He also made mentioned that successionist could be being behind the carnage in Lagos.
