AKALA LAUDS LAUTECH TAKE-OVER BY OYO•••Commends Govs for seamless take-over

 

Former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has described as a welcome development, the just announced final take-over of the Ladoke Akintola University of technology, Ogbomoso by the Oyo State government.

Akala, in a statement he personally endorsed, said the final resolution of the ownership tussle between the former owner states, though long over due, has finally put an end to the age long crisis that has bedevilled the institution which has had  damaging effects on the educational pursuit of students of the institution.

Akala,  whose administration initiated the move to take over the ownership of the institution, commended the duo of Governors Oyetola of Osun State and his Oyo State counterpart,  Makinde , for allowing reason to prevail and for putting the interest of the students whose education has been in jeopardy for so long, into consideration without allowing political interest or party affiliation destroy the unity and progress of Yoruba land.

While also commending the Nigerian Universities Commission(NUC) for it’s role in the final settlement and eventual take-over of the institution by Oyo State, Akala advised the Oyo State Government to immediately set machineries in motion, to ensure that the school returns to it’s pride of place as the foremost Citadel of technology studies in Nigeria, which was the initial vision of the founding fathers.
