Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday, disclosed that Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomoso (LAUTECH) will be made a muliti-campus institution.
The governor made the disclosure while addressing student of the institution who were in his office on a “Thank You” visit in appreciation of the transfer of the ownership of LAUTECH to Oyo
The students, led by the state chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who is also the LAUTECH Student Union President, Olabiyi Anthony, expressed optimism that it would bring an end to the lingering crisis rocking the Institution over the years.
Governor Makinde said: “I came to you during electioneering campaign and I promised to work for you and that is exactly what we are doing now. LAUTECH has the opportunity for research and learning and opportunity to be multi-campus.”
The students thanked the governor for making the transfer of LAUTECH to Oyo State a reality and pledged their unalloyed support for and cooperation with his administration.
Recalled that Nigerian University Commission (NUC), last Friday, transferred the sole ownership of the institution, previously jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states, to the former, after years of deliberation.
