A welder, Bashorun Bello, aged 34, of Ile Imam in Igbeti, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command Agro Ranger Squad, for alleged vandalisation of transformer.
As contained in a press release by the Oyo NSCDC PRO, Oluwole Olusegun, the suspect was arrested on Thursday in Ikoyi-Ile Ogbomoso Town around the hour of 0900hrs where he was caught packing looted transformer cables.
Parading the suspect today at the State Command Headquarters, Agodi, Ibadan CC Iskilu Akinsanya, disclosed that he vandalised a transformer at Ikoyi-Ile on Tuesday and the Agro Ranger Squad tracked him down and got him arrested on Thursday.
The press release added that items recovered from the suspect at time of his arrest included armoured cable, wrench, glove, hack-saw and range.
The Commandant disclosed that the suspect will be charge to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
He commended the residents of Oyo State for providing timely information to the Corps in order to curb criminality and assured good people of more adequate security, in collaboration with other security agencies.
