How We Rescued Abducted Kankara Secondary School Students-Army

The Nigerian Army has claimed that its troops were responsible for the rescue of all the 344 students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State who were abducted by suspected bandits last week.

While there have been claims and counter-claims about how the students were eventually released, the military command said the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji rescued all of them on Thursday.

The Nigerian Army made the claim, in a statement issued on Friday by the coordinator, Defence Media Operation, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche.

According to the statement, the students were rescued on the heels of credible intelligence by the Nigerian Army troops, “with high degree of professionalism to ensure they were all rescued alive.

“Keeping to its promise to ensure the safe return of all abducted students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State, troops of Operation Hadarin Daji rescued all 344 abducted students on Thursday, 17 December, 2020.

“The students were rescued on the heels of credible intelligence by our gallant troops, with high degree of professionalism to ensure they were all rescued alive”.

The Military High Command, therefore, commended the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, including all security agencies for their dexterity and the general public who volunteered information that helped to effect the release and rescue of the school students.
