Nkanga Genuinely Contributed His Quota To The Development Of Akwa Ibom State – Akpabio

 

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Saturday, paid a condolence visit to the  country home of one of his predecessors,  Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, at Ikot Nya in Nsit Ibom, in Akwa Ibom State.

Akpabio, who spoke through his Chief Of Staff, Sir Etekamba Umoren, expressed regret and sadness over the loss of this great icon, who genuinely contributed his quota towards the development of the state.

“The late Nkanga was unwaveringly committed and dedicated to the founding ideals and objectives of the state to foster unity, peace and development in the Niger Delta region. The astute administrator was also the National Chairman, Pan Niger Delta Forum ( PANDEF )

“He was a selfless, humane, broad-minded, trusted leader, esteemed compatriot and statesman”.

He also recalled how the late former Military Administrator, served as the Director General of his campaign organization in 2011 that returned him to office.

Nkanga’s humility mixed with his simplicity was not only disarming but made him a perfect example of that officer and a gentleman we had come to celebrate and respect in all ramifications.

His approach to life was founded on the phase ” The greater good is the common good ”

Responding, his widow, Mrs Mosunsola Olufunmilola Idongesit-Nkanga flanked by her daughter, thanked the former governor and his entourage for identifying with the family during this turbulent moments of grief and distress.

The Minister was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Sole Administrator of the NDDC, Barrister Effiong Akwa and other top functionaries, as well as some of his personal aides.
