The new Divisional Police Officer, Apete, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, SP Grace Akinshehinwa on Wednesday, met with statekeholders of Awotan and Apete communities, as her first major step towards achieving peace in the area.

The DPO, who was flanked by the Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Paul Igbinovia, and the Divisional Transport Officer, ASP George Usoro, said she was relying on the support and cooperation of stakeholders and residents of the area to succeed in her new assignment as the DPO.

“I am here today, courtesy of our CP, Ngozi Onadeko. She specifically sent me here to ensure that there is peace and order and I cannot achieve that without your cooperation and support.”

“As we gather here today, let us agree that we are on the same page as far as restoring peace and order in the communities are concerned. The police will continue to be your friend. We will do our best to maintain that. We will serve you better if authentic information is given to us and I can assure you secrecy of the source of such information”, she stressed.

Stakeholders at the meeting publicly assured the new DPO of their unalloyed support. They also pray for a successful tenure for the new police chief.
