Senator Disclaims Personalized Ringtone

The attention of Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), who represents Akwa Ibom North East, has been drawn to an alleged plan by some unknown persons to use his name to devise personalised ringtones for mobile phones.

According to the security information at the disposal of  Senator  Akpan, who is also the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Caucus of the National Assembly, the purported ringtones, carry politically motivated lyrics.

Accordingly, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan wishes to disclaim any or such ringtones with or without lyrics that have political connotations for users of mobile phones.

As a focused lawmaker, law abiding and responsible citizen, Senator Akpan, has neither authorized, commissioned nor indicated interest in any personalised ringtones for whatever purposes.

He, therefore, advises those who may be involved in such sinister motive to desist forthwith, and has urged security agencies to be on guard against such ill-motivated plans.

The Senator acknowledges the massive support by hundreds of thousands of his constituents, supporters and admirers within and beyond Akwa Ibom State, who are very appreciative of his laudable community services, people empowerment programmes and excellent performances in the Senate.

Senator Albert therefore reiterates his commitment to the needs of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District as well as his continuous support to the State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel in the governance and development of Akwa Ibom State.
