Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), in Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi has congratulated Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, on his emergence as South West People’s Democratic party Chairman.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement released by Gbolarumi’s Media Aide, Olaniyi Stephen, to newsmen within the week in Ibadan.
Gbolarumi described Arapaja’s victory at the polls as well deserved considering his experience in the past years in politics.
According to him, “I extend my warm felicitations to you on your well deserved victory in the just concluded South West People’s Democratic Party Zonal Congress which took place on Monday, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Gbolarumi commended the well-articulated campaign programme of Arapaja, and the doggedness of his Campaign team in going round the South West to reach out to the people.
He noted that the outcome of the election clearly reflected the mood of the people to sustain the pedigree of responsiveness, forthrightness and diligence that Arapaja brought into the service of his people.
“The victory is good for democracy, for Nigeria and the people of South West,” Gbolarumi said.
He, however, urged the party zonal leader to see his victory as a call to do more for Party who reposed their confidence in him.
“Having won a hard-fought election, I admonish you to be magnanimous in victory by extending a hand of fellowship to your opponents on the other side,” he added
