Akpabio Condoles  Emir OF Kano Over Mother’s Death•••His Visit Is That Of The Son Coming Home- Emir

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has said that the demise of the Mother of the Emir of Kano, Hajia Maryam Ado Bayero was a great loss not only to the Kano Emirate but  Nigeria as a whole.

The Minister spoke at the Palace during a condolence visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who recently lost his mother.

Akpabio said he was in the Palace to condole with the Emir, his family and the Kano Emirate on the demise of his Mother.

The Minister said that his presence in the Palace was a great sign of the bridge that’s been constructed over the years between the South-South and the Northern Region.

Akpabio,  who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr Babayo Ado, said Nigeria was passing through a challenging phase which needed all hands to be on deck to restore peace to the country.

According to Akpabio, the traditional institution in Nigeria has a great role to play in bringing to an end the security challenges that the country was experiencing and called on all Nigerians to play their parts in the restoration of peace in the country.

Responding, The Emir Of Kano expressed sadness over the loss of the mother as according to him, “The loss of the Matriarch in this Palace is not personal to me alone, it is on us, and for all the people in Nigeria. We will continue to pray for her soul.”

He thanked the Almighty Allah for enabling him meet with the Minister and his entourage and described Senator Akpabio as a long standing friend of his late father, Emir Ado Bayero. He said seeing the Minister in the Palace was not strange to them as the Minister is the Son of the Palace.

Alhaji Bayero said that the relationship the Minister established with the late Emir had always been a good one and should be maintained.
He promised that the leadership of the Palace would do everything to maintain same.

He assured the  Minister of the continued prayer of the Palace and the Emirates over the issue of insecurities and COVID-19 pandemic in the country and expressed the hope that the country would surmount its challenges.

Senator Akpabio and his entourage who received a royal welcome to the Emir’s Palace prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of Hajiya Bayero.
