On Thursday, May 20, 2021, St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church Malunfashi, Katsina state, was attacked by unknown gunmen. 2 priests were kidnapped, Rev Frs Joe Keke & Alphonsus Bello.
Fr Joe Keke who is in his late 70s was the former parish priest of St Vincent Parish, Malunfashi where he was resident before his abduction yesterday while Fr Alphonsus Bello who is the parish priest is in his 30s.
This morning, (Friday) the body of Fr Alphonsus was found (lifeless) in the farmland behind the Catechetical Traning School, Malunfashi, while the whereabouts of Fr. Joe Keke is still unknown. No contact has been made thus far.
Fr Alphonsus Bello was a Priest of Kaduna Archdiocese but he was on Secondment in Sokoto Diocese.
We therefore implore everyone to pray for the repose of the soul of Fr Alphonsus and the release of Fr Joe Keke, an elderly priest.
