Barely 72hrs after Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, publicly presented Pastor Umoh Eno, as his preferred successor in the 2023 governorship contest, former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Obong Paul Ekpo, is set to clinch the Uyo Senatorial ticket of the party.
In a telephone interview with our reporter, Ekpo who is the current chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB), confirmed his ambition to succeed the incumbent occupier of the seat in 2023.
” It is true that I am interested in the Uyo Senatorial Seat in 2023. I will soon publicly declare my intention after due consultations with relevant stakeholders across the Senatorial district and the state,” he stated.
