South Easterners Beckon On Akpabio To Run For President In 2023, Else

Minister Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has been told to declare interest in the office of the president in 2023, or lose his support base in the Eastern part of the country.

The position was contained in a statement issued in Enugu State by the state chapter of the Godswill Akpabio Uncommon Transformational Support Organization ( GAUTSO).

In a statement after the stakeholders’ meeting of the group in Enugu on Tuesday
they urged Akpabio to throw his hat into the ring as the race for the Presidency comes home to the South of Nigeria or lose his hordes of supporters in the Eastern part of the country.

Speaking earlier, the state Coordinator of the group, Madam Uju Nwogbo, noted that “the group looks forward to a day when Senator Godswill Akpabio as the President of Nigeria would boldly invite other world leaders to Nigeria to see the transformation that Nigerians looked forward to under his watch; just the way he invited anyone to Akwa Ibom State to see the extent of positive development, changes and transformation he made possible as the governor”.

Nwogbo recalled how Senator Akpabio brought the first E-Library in West Africa to Akwa Ibom State, inorder to bolster the free and compulsory education policy of his administration, which had tremendous impact in the state, identifying this, as a pointer to the much-needed passion for addressing the lapses in the education sector in Nigeria.

“The work that would confront our next President is huge, arduous, intricate and daunting. It requires a young, energetic, vibrant person of uncommon wisdom to brace up to it. Senator Akpabio fits this bill more than any other person we know.”, the group declared.

” Akpabio has indeed demonstrated to be an uncommon leader and a great visionary with a visible track record. For these reasons the patriotic zeal of the South-South region and the Old Eastern Nigeria has been fired up to urge Senator Akpabio to come and run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in 2023,” the group stressed.
