APC INAUGURATES PARTY EXCOS IN A’IBOM

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, on Tuesday, 12th April, 2023 sworn-in members of the State Exco (SWC) of the party at the State secretariat, #6 Ekpo Obot Street in Uyo.

Speaking shortly after the Oath of office and allegiance were administered on members of the State Exco, the State Chairman charged them to ensure the unity, progress and success of the party in the spirit of no winner, no vanquished.

According to Ntukekpo, “let me, on behalf of the leadership of our great party congratulate you all on your inauguration as members of the APC SWC, Akwa Ibom State. This is a demonstration of our respect for the rule of law and as a law abiding organisation.

“I charge you all to work assiduously and reunite the members, grow the party and lead it to victory in all elections. Be assured of the party’s total support in this task. I am certainly confident that together, we will succeed in this task because I believe in each of your ability.

“I am assuring us that no group has lost out and no group has won because we are one united political family. I know our great party has proven leaders; men of unquestionable integrity. I know together, and with the support of our leaders, we can bring everyone together. What we need is that togetherness”, the chairman declared.

Ntukekpo also thanked Sen. Godswill Akpabio and other leaders of the party who stood firmly behind him and the party, when the goings were tough, saying, “with all amount of humility, I am grateful to all our leaders, most especially, Sen. Godswill Akpabio for standing firm behind us. Today, I want to assure them that having been given this opportunity on trust to serve, we will do our utmost best with all our ability to achieve that onerous task which is to get to the Government House in 2023.”

Also sworn in were Local Government and Ward Executives of the Party.

The State Legal Adviser, Barr. Udom while administering the oath of office to all the elected officers of the party, said it was incumbent on him to carry out the inauguration of the LG and ward executives of the Party expressed gratitude to the leaders of APC for not allowing the party to be pocketed by an individual.

He emphasized that every member of APC has equal right, irrespective of when he or she joined the party, stating that “there is no landlord in APC”.

Describing the inauguration as a pathway to progress, the APC State secretary, Mr. Uduak Udoh in his remarks commended Barr. Jumbo Udom for the exercise urging party members to unite and move forward.

Mr. Udoh who spoke on behalf the inaugurated party officials, said he was delighted to witness and be part of the inauguration of new Executives from the State, LG and Ward after the Congresses, and thanked the leaders and other stakeholders of the party for rising to the responsibilities of saving the party from collapse.

According to him, “I am so happy that we have been sworn in today as elected party officials. We’ve a task to perform and I can assure our leaders, stakeholders and the entire supporters of our great party that with these calibers of persons being inaugurated today, we’ll work assiduously to ensure the party achieve its desired goal, which is to take over power from the PDP in 2023.”

Also Speaking on behalf the chapter chairmen, the Chapter chairman of Ibiono Ibom LG, Comrade Umoh Ekop said the inauguration has ushered a rebirth of the party in Akwa Ibom State. He said by the exercise, “we have been able to arrest what seemingly was a drifting in the party. I want to thank the leaders and stakeholders for inaugurating the new executive”. He expressed optimism that the APC in Akwa Ibom State “will go from height to height and we are all looking forward to getting to the Hilltop Mansion”.

The event was attended by prominent APC faithful from the three Senatorial Districts and all the 329 Wards Centres in the State.

Chief Stephen Ntukekpo was on Monday sworn in by the Sen. Adamu-led National Working Committee of the APC at the national headquarters in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Ntukekpo’s swearing-in came days after the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, dismissed the Appeal following the withdrawal by the APC.
