Akpabio, Abbas, Barau, Dangote, Obi, Others, Grace The Wedding Fatiha Of Emirs Of Kano, Bichi’s Children

 

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas and the Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, were among the dignitaries who attended the wedding fatiha of the children of emirs of Kano and Bichi, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, respectively, on Friday.

Other dignitaries who graced the event, which took place at the Emir’s Palace, Kofar Kudu, Kano, included the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the former governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, among others.

The wedding was between Sanusi Aminu Bayero (Khalifa) and Rumanah Nasir Bayero (Ummi). The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam and Dan Iyan Kano, Alhaji Ahmad Ado Bayero stood as the representatives of the groom and the bride, respectively.

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, congratulated the Emirs and wished the newly wed couple marital bliss.

Akpabio specifically described himself as a member of the larger Bayero family. He personally prayed for a peaceful and blessed marriage for the couple, who are both son and daughter from the Bayero lineage.

On his part, the Deputy President of the Senate described the wedding as historic.
“We wish the couple a blessed marriage. We pray to Almighty God to bless the wedding, the family, Kano Emirate and the country,” he prayed.

In their separate responses, the emirs of Kano and Bichi thanked the leadership of the National Assembly and others for gracing the occasion.

While wishing the lawmakers and other dignitaries safe travels to their destinations, the Emirs prayed for peace, unity and progress of the country.
