2019 Elections fall out:
•Udom bares fangs on opposition
• Orders sack of airline employee for supporting APC
A yet to be inaugurated airline; Ibom Air, said to be owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, is now a political tool in the hands of the Udom Emmanuel-led   government, to deal with opposition elements in the state, as it recently ordered the sack of an employee, believed to have worked against the re-election of the governor, but supported the ambition of the APC candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere, in the last election.
The letter, informing the Business Administration graduate of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Mr Daniel Utomette of his sack from an employment that he is yet to receive his first salary, came 7 days after he was engaged by the airline as a Catering Handler.
The letter of sack, signed by Mr Idoreyin Eddie, Human Resources Manager of the airline and adressed to Utomette, now in possession of Peesreporters.com  reads: “This is to inform you that your services will no longer be required. This takes immediate effect.”
Utomette’s sack, according to findings, was based on a Facebook post by Mr Aniekeme Finbarr, Media aide to the governor, which accused him of criticising Governor Emmanuel on his Facebook wall.
“Mr Aniekeme Finbarr made a post on Facebook, stating that I am an APC supporter and that I have been making obnoxious remarks against Governor Udom Emmanuel,” Utomette was quoted to have told some pen pushers in the state.
Finbarr’s Facebook post that led to Utomette’s sack reads inter alia “This brother said there were no industries in the state, typical of how APC supporters talk. Today, he works at Ibom Air,” Mr Finbarr stated in the Facebook post. “Let politics not allow us run down the genuine effort of government in creating jobs. We only have one Akwa Ibom state.”
He also posted photos of Mr Utomette on his work outfit in Ibom Air office.
Utomette has, however, denied ever making disparaging remarks against the governor but agreed that he supported Mr Nsima Ekere of the APC for the governorship.
The commissioner overseeing the ministry, Mr Akan Okon, claimed ignorance of the development but promised to find out what happened.
“Membership of political party is not a consideration for employment in Akwa Ibom,” Mr Okon reportedly said.
Also the  Commissioner for Information  Mr Charles Udoh, claimed ignorance of the sack of the 29 year old sacked worker.
