We’ll Have A Strong, United APC In Oyo-Stakeholders

Prominent chieftains and other stakeholders in the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have resolved and pledged to work together to present a strong and united in the state.

They arrived at the resolution following their meeting with the Governor Abubakar Badaru-led APC Reconciliation Committee in Abuja, on Thursday.

As contained in a statement by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Yekini Nabena, the Oyo APC leaders have decided to bury the hatchet and work together to build a strong party in the state.

The Abuja meeting was a continuation of the series held in Ibadan, the state capital, under the leadership of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, with a view to bringing about genuine reconciliation and lasting peace and unity between the stakeholders of the party.

At the meeting, which was held at the Plateau State Government Lodge in Abuja, all the leaders and stakeholders pledged to work together in ensuring that the former ruling party in the state becomes strong and formidable and, once again, returns to its winning ways in the state.

Present at the meeting were former Adebayo Alao Akala; former Deputy Governor Alake Adeyemo; former Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu; Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare; Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle; Senator Ayo Adeseun; and Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi.

Others included Senator Teslim Folarin; Senator Abdulfatai Buhari; Chief Akin Oke; Honourable Segun Odebunmi; Honourable Bimbo Kolade; Honourable Shina Peller; Honourable Bimbo Kolade; Dr Yinus Akintunde; Chief Bayo Adelabu; Mr Joseph Tegbe and Mr Zacchaeus Adedeji and Senator Olufemi Lanlehin who is yet to make public his defection into the APC.

The reconciliation committee was set up by the APC national leadership to look into the crises rocking the Imo, Ogun and Oyo states chapters of the party, with a view to proffering lasting solutions and forge unity in the affected states.

The chairman of the
APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, recently recently inaugurated the reconciliation committee inline with its mandate to achieve peace building, true reconciliation and to give every member a sense of fairness and belonging.

Apart from Governor Badaru of Jigawa State who is the chairman of the committee, other members include Governors Simon Lalong (Plateau); Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Kayode Fayemi; Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa); Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe).
