Alhaji Balarabe Musa, a former governor of Kaduna State during the defunct Second Republic, is dead.
The death of Musa, aged 84, was announced by his political associate, Senator Shehu Sani, who wrote on Twitter: “Alhaji Balarabe Musa has died.May Allah forgive his souls and grant him Aljanna firdausi. Amin.”
Musa was elected governor of Kaduna State on the platform of the then People’s Redemption Party in 1979 but was controversially impeached and removed from office in 1981.
Considered a progressive, the late former governor was known to be unsparing in his criticism of successive administrations in the country.
