The Speaker Jigawa State House of Assembly, Isah Idriz Gwaram, was this morning impeached by majority of his colleagues.
A new speaker, Hon Idris Kareka, who is a former speaker, who was impeached in 2017 was immediately re-elected and sworn in by the Clerk of the House.
