The Peacock Paints Industry in Etinan, reinvigorated by Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration in 2015, has been rebranded and will henceforth be known as Ibom Paints limited.

This is one of the decisions taken at today’s State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Udom Emmanuel at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo.

Briefing Government House correspondents shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Charles Udoh said that the change in name is to enable the company operate on a clean slate without being encumbered by inherited liabilities.

Mr Udoh also said that the council also deliberated on the assessment of the performance of Ministries and Departments as well as take stock of the achievements so far in line with the transparency and integrity of the administration in the governance of the state.

The Information Boss also said that the seven buildings at the Army Barracks, Ibagwa, under the state government’s intervention programme would be inaugurated this Saturday.

Worried by the Erosion menace threatening the Uyo prisons and its environs, the Executive Council also approved commencement of work to control the menace.

He reiterated the administration’s commitment to be accountable to the people.
