I am ashamed of my Akwa Ibom under Udom – Inibehe

The Akwa Ibom State Government is in court to resist local government financial autonomy. The craziest part of this absurdly provocative action is that ALL the 31 LGAs in the State were joined as Plaintiffs in the senseless suit.

I am ashamed of what Akwa Ibom State has turn into under the leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

There used to be honour among thieves, but not any more. What message is the governor sending to the rest of the country? That we are a shameless, dubious and undemocratic society.

The governor is expressing his indignation for accountability. No matter how long it takes, one day, Mr. Udom Emmanuel will stand in the dock to explain how he (mis)managed the resources of Akwa Ibom State.

The 31 Council Chairmen were not elected but were imposed on the people by the PDP and the governor. That is why they will foolishly join the state government go to court to stop the noble move by the federal government to ensure that the governor does not continue to misappropriate funds meant for the development of the local government areas.

Governor Udom Emmanuel will one day account in court for the funds that accrued to the Local Government Areas during his dispensation.

I am disgusted by this open duplicity and vicious display of contempt for accountability.

But I am comforted by the fact that six days are for the thief, and one day for the owner of the house.
