AKHA SUSPENDS COUNCIL CHAIRMAN INDEFINITELY FOR MALTREATING AN INDIGENE

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has suspended the chairman of Abak Local Government Area, Hon Imoh Williams in definitely over maltreatment mounted on the person that claimed he owe him some money since 2016 till date.
His suspension is sequel to the matter of urgent public importance brought before the House by the member representing Ikot Abasi /Esiten Obolo, Rt. Hon Uduak Ududoh.
Rt. Hon Uduak Ududoh, said the action of the chairman in question is condemnable as it does not portray the state in a good image as such the House do something.
The state legislators , while speaking on the matter expressed displeasure over the chairman’s action towards the man in a video that surfaced online yesterday.
They all unanimously condemned his actions and described it as a cross misconduct and should be suspended and also be investigated in order to serve as a deterrent to others that are in the position of power.
The House adjourned plenary to reconvene on the 10th of September, 2019.
