There are fears in Ukanafun, Akwa Ibom State, that the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State, is dead.
He was said to have died in the early hours of Tuesday, according to family sources.
As news of the death broke, tears flowed freely in Ukanafun where he came from and had ruled as chairman of the local government before ascending to the position of commissioner.
It was not clear what may have led to his death, but sources said he has been at the Ibom Specialist Hospital for about two weeks now.
His remains was moved to the mortuary on Tuesday morning.
